President Trump's Victory Over progressivism

Citizen shocked over student protests and flag burning do not understand the full significance and ramifications of the recent Trump victory.

President Trump will reverse much of President Obama's legacy. He plans to remove the Affordable Care Act, reverse Obama's executive orders, and reverse the war on coal. However, the most lasting legacy of Trump's presidency could be the judges he appoints to the highest court. Not only did Trump's presidential victory give Republicans control of the executive and legislative branches, it effectively gave Republicans control of the judicial branch. The John Roberts Supreme Court could conceivably gain a 7-2 majority.

President Trump may fill as many as four vacancies on the Supreme Court in his first term of office. He will replace Justice Scalia and as many as three of the remaining justices who have reached the average retirement age of 78. Ruth Ginsburg is 83, Anthony Kennedy is 80 and Stephen Breyer is 78. Ginsburg has been treated for colon and pancreatic cancer. Stephen Breyer and Ginsburg have coronary disease and stint implants. The Supreme court is not a life time appointment, the term requires good behavior. Dementia from old age can be grounds for removal from the Supreme court.

The death of Scalia split the Supreme Court between four Republican justices (Roberts, Alito, Thomas, Kennedy) and the four liberal justices appointed by Democratic presidents (Ginsburg, Breyer, Kagan and Sotomayor). During the next four years, President Trump will likely nominate not only Scalia's replacement but also an additional three new justices. The future of the Supreme court will be determined President Trump's Supreme Court appointments.

A John Roberts Supreme Court could overturn McLean v. Arkansas, which stated the equal teaching of evolution and creation science violated the Establishment Clause of lst Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

A Roberts Court could overturn Obergefell v. Hodges which legalized same-sex marriage in the whole country. Scalia's scathing dissent stated the majority decision is a "threat to American democracy". The Roberts court could also overturn Roe v. Wade, which struck down state laws prohibiting abortions.

Of all President-elect's cabinet appointments, one that threatens the future of the progressive agenda the most is that of Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education. Her appointment signals the desire of conservatives to dismantle the progressives hold on public schools. Charter schools and school vouchers will allow parents from middle and low income families to choose schools which teach reading, writing and arithmetic, rather than progressive propaganda.

While classical Marxists argued capitalism would be overthrown because of dialectal materialism, Neo-Marxists, or the New Left, argue that the proletariat will not overthrow the bourgeoisie in an economic struggle. It must destroy Western culture by attacking Christianity and traditional family values. The New Left pursues their radical agenda through a network of organizations such as the ACLU, the Gay Straight Lesbian Educators Network, and Planned Parenthood. Ruth Ginsburg was chief legal counsel for the ACLU and was appointed to the Supreme Court by Bill Clinton. President Trump chose Steve Bannon as chief Strategist, because Bannon is an authority on cultural Marxists and knows how they think. It appears conservative Republicans ran the table in the last election. The red states in Middle America apparently rejected the progressive New Left agenda.
